The paper entitled “Bioelectrical impedance vector analysis (BIVA) in sport and exercise: Systematic review and future perspectives”, authored by Jorge Castizo-Olier, Alfredo Irurtia, Monèm Jemni, Marta Carrasco-Marginet, Raúl Fernández-García, and Ferran A. Rodríguez, has been published in PLoS ONE (IF 2.806) in Open Access. The paper systematically reviews the sources on the applications of BIVA in sport and exercise and examines its usefulness and suitability as a technique for the evaluation of body composition, hydration status, and other physiological and clinical relevant characteristics, ultimately to trace future perspectives in this growing area, including a proposal for a research agenda.
