The I World Conference of Science in Triathlon, organized by the International Triathlon Union and hosted by the University of Alicante, gathered more than 300 participants in Alicante. Anna Barrero, Xavier Ábalos, and Ferran Rodríguez participated in the conference and presented the oral communication “Intermittent hypobaric hypoxia exposure increases ventilatory threshold but not running performance in triathletes”, authored by F.A. Rodríguez, X. Iglesias, A. Barrero, X. Ábalos, D. Moreno, R. Abellán, and J. Segura. These last two authors are with the Institut Municipal d’Investigació Mèdica (IMIM), Departament of Pharmacology. Iñigo Mújika presented the keynote lecture “Tapering/Puesta a punto para la competición”.
