The Spanish Higher Sports Council (Consejo Superior de Deportes) has awarded a research grant for 2012 to the project “Strategies for performance enhancement in elite swimmers by means of moderate-altitude training (extension of the ALTITUDE Project)”. A total of 202 projects took part in the competitive public tendering process and 49 were selected for funding. The project attained the second best score (93,71/100) and was awarded the highest funded amount. The research team is composed by scientists from our group (Ferran A. Rodríguez-PI, Xavier Iglesias, Anna Barrero, Diego Chaverri), the University of Granada (Belén Feriche, Jordi Mercadé, Amador García), and the CAR Sierra Nevada (Carmen Calderón).
